Monterey Firefighters: Fire Victims Relief Fund

The current threat from the wildfires burning in Monterey County is unprecedented and the need of Monterey County residents who have been evacuated is huge. Now through September 5, 2020, Monterey Firefighters are collecting donations of cash and gift cards to distribute quickly, and directly, to families impacted by the fires.

Monterey Firefighters have set up a Go Fund Me page for financial donations. They are also accepting donations of gift cards from stores such as Target, Walmart, Safeway, or Lucky's, at all of the fire stations in the City of Monterey . Downtown Old Monterey's Fire Station No. 11 is located at 600 Pacific Street.

Although it's unbelievable that we are now facing these fires at the same time our families are being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, it's the difficult reality for all of us. We will survive this, but if it's possible to lend some help to our neighbors at the same time, we know it will be greatly appreciated.

Take the 2020 U.S. Census Today!

Every 10 years, people across the country fill out the Census in order to have an accurate count of all people in the United States. Californians can complete the 2020 Census online , by phone, or by mail (paper forms are being mailed to households that have not yet responded to the census). A Census ID is not required in order to respond. Be counted and help secure critical resources for your community today!

Census data determines funding allocations for schools, child care programs, road maintenance projects, and social assistance programs. Census data informs where new hospitals are built, improves health programs, and increases jobs and business opportunities. The Census also determines California’s federal funding for important community services that help support our families and gives us a fair share of representation in California and Washington, D.C.

Information collected during the 2020 Census can’t be shared or used against you in any way. Your information is only used to generate statistics. Do it today! It only takes a few moments.
