Congratulations to Code Ninjas' junior varsity e-sports team for winning the XP Youth League National Finals last weekend!

That's right, folks, the Monterey Whales JV Team upset the first seed in the first round of the playoffs and made an amazing underdog comeback, winning in the final round of their national Overwatch e-sports league on Saturday, July 25. Go team!

July Donation Drive for Community Homeless Solutions Women's Shelter

Shelley Bennett Skincare is holding a donation drive for Community Homeless Solutions Women's Shelter through the month of July. For each grocery bag of women's and children's clothes, household items, and/or toys donated that day, Shelley Bennett will give you 5 raffle tickets.

At the end of the drive, Shelley will hold a raffle for 5 tote bags filled with skincare products! Please email Shelley for an appointment to drive up and drop off your donation at 588 Houston Street. She'll contact the raffle winners on August 1.

Please Do Not Climb on the Colton Hall Bears

The City of Monterey is asking all of us to obey the words of our mothers and "look, don't touch" when it comes to the bear sculptures on the Colton Hall Lawn. Scientific studies have show that the novel coronavirus can stay on surfaces for an extended period of time. For your own health and safety, please do not climb on the bears.

Union Yoga Beyond the Studio

While we shelter in place, there are a number of ways to continue to maintain our Union Yoga community. We are now offering a range of yoga classes seven days a week via Zoom; we meet in-person on Fridays - Sundays, 9am-10am, on the beach at the Monterey Tides Hotel; and many of our teachers are offering one-on-one or private group classes outdoors on your patio. California State Health Officer Order for Monterey County - July 13, 2020

On July 13, 2020, the State of California ordered the following businesses to close indoor operations in Monterey County: hair salons and barbershops; personal care services (including nail and skin care, waxing, lashes); fitness studios and fitness centers; offices for non-critical sectors; indoor malls; and places of worship.
