California State Health Officer Order for Monterey County - July 8, 2020

This is an informal layperson's summary. Read the complete order here.

As of Wednesday, July 8, for at least 3 weeks:

1) Bars, breweries, pubs, and brewpubs (including bars located at indoor and outdoor food facilities) must close both indoor and outdoor operations.

2) Restaurants must close indoor seating to customers. All restaurants may continue to use outdoor seating and offer take-out and delivery.

3) Wineries and tasting rooms must close indoor services to customers.

4) Family entertainment centers and movie theaters must close indoor services and attractions to customers. They may continue to provide outdoor services.

5) Zoos and museums must close Indoor attractions to visitors, but they may continue to operate outdoor attractions.

6) Cardrooms must close indoor services to customers.

City of Monterey Emergency Face Covering Order

As of July 1, the City is enforcing the mandatory wearing of face coverings in business districts, both inside and outside, with a fine of $100 for the first violation. All people over the age of 12 must wear a face covering.

Residents and visitors to the business districts are also required to maintain a six foot distance from others who are not members of the same household.

Beach Yoga with Union Yoga

Union Yoga is now teaching yoga on the beach at Monterey Tides Hotel every Saturday and Sunday, 9am-10am. These all-level flow classes are taught by Kelli Gray (Nairn) on Saturdays and Rebekah Cordell on Sundays. We're gathering together, breathing together, and enjoying familiar company. Celebrate Father's Day with Esteban Restaurant

In honor of Father's Day, Esteban Restaurant will be serving paella all weekend, June 19-21, 4pm-8:30pm. This Paella Negra Mixta from Valencia, Spain, features duck, sausage, mussels, and prawns. Paella will only be offered for dine-in service at our restaurant - reservations are recommended - but the rest of our menu is available for take-out, curbside pick-up, and delivery.
