Venture Gallery is now open 10am-6pm six days a week and 2pm-6pm on Tuesdays. Cheryl Kampe's artwork will be featured through November 2023. Venture Gallery is located at 260 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey. Visit our website to shop online for work by our local artists.

Webster Street Art Gallery presents a solo show of the art of Bill Finkel through October 2023 at 188 Webster Street in Downtown Old Monterey.

Bill Finkel's acrylic paintings on canvas include portraits, still lifes, collages, mythologicals, and abstracts. Bill studied two dimensional art at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.

Now in his seventies and living in Ohio, Finkel has enjoyed painting since he was a child but, as a young adult, he was slowed down by cerebral palsy which affected his work output, often preventing him from painting for more than 10 minutes a day. But he persevered, often spending several months working on each painting. In a 2008 interview for Wilmington College’s LINK magazine, he stated that, while every aspect of creating poses a challenge, he loves the process - from his first brush strokes and choices of color to the mystery of what the finished piece will become.
