In 1980, Rosine's Restaurant was opened by Jim and Rosine Culcasi and their children in Monterey. It was an instant success and the family shared in the work, from cooking and baking to serving and greeting. Rosine's quickly gained notoriety for their delicious homemade soups, hearty meals and sumptuous array of homemade, award-winning desserts. They are now a third-generation family-run restaurant celebrating 40 successful years.
Voted 'Best Family Restaurant' and 'Best Desserts' and even more since 1992. They are featured on The Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, hosted by Guy Fieri. Episode name is 'Stuffed and Twisted', Guy and owner Jim Culcasi prepare their famous Minestrone Soup and Lasagna together. You can now catch them in re-runs often! They were also featured on 100 Mile Meals, a local show highlighting the Monterey Peninsula.
To this day, Rosine's continues a fine tradition of homemade food, generous servings and award-winning desserts. Also offering local wine, craft beer and select cocktails.
