Monterey Moves into the Red Tier!

Posted on March 16th, 2021 by omba

The Old Monterey Business Association is happy to announce that Monterey County moved from the most restrictive Purple Tier into the Red Tier on Tuesday, March 16.

What this means for businesses in Monterey is:

Restaurants are allowed 25% indoor dining in addition to current outdoor dining, take-out, curbside pick-up, and delivery (please view our Dining Guide to see what's available - it's updated daily)

Retail shops can increase in-store shopping from 20% to 50% capacity

Entertainment venues (such as movie theaters, the Aquarium) can open at 25% capacity

Fitness studios and gyms can open indoors at 10% capacity

It is extremely important that we all continue to follow health requirements such as wearing masks and social distancing so that Monterey County stays in the Red Tier and we are able to progress to the Orange and Yellow Tiers, which have even fewer restrictions. Vaccinations are increasing and hospitalizations are decreasing, but the pandemic is not over yet.

This move into the Red Tier reflects all the hard work the business community and our residents have done so far! Congratulations on a job well done. Keep it up, Monterey!

Savor the bounty of spring this Easter at Esteban Restaurant, located at 700 Munras Avenue in Downtown Old Monterey. Choose from either a delectable Brunch Menu served 11am-4pm or our Tapas & Dinner Menu served 4pm-8pm.

Enjoy Chef Mario's delicious farm fresh Spanish spin on brunch classics. Eggs Benedict with patatas bravas, Spanish Torta (with eggs, caramelized onion, potato, Jamon Serrano, and Ad Astra seeded sourdough), or Dungeness Crab Tostado (with espellete, avocado, lemon, pickled red onion, and Arbequina Spanish Olive Oil), and much more.

Or savor a crave-worthy all-night tapas and dinner menu with all of your favorites. Start with the Crispy Pulpo (grilled octopus, remoulade, Yukon potato, chorizo, and rosemary chili oil with grilled radicchio), Saffron Arancini with brava sauce, Braised Pork Empanadas, Grilled Lamb Chop with Mario’s spiced marinade, 14 oz. Prime NY Strip with pimento hollandaise, or the Easter Paella (with wild prawns, Little Neck clams, Green Lip mussels, free range Mary’s chicken, local Spanish style chorizo).

Reservations are highly recommended. We are offering both outdoor and limited indoor seating. Please call 831-375-0176 to reserve your table. Parking is free for Estéban’s guests. Children’s menu also available at both brunch and dinner.
