The Pearl Works, located at 288 Pearl Street, is seeking art for their next show, Cycles , a juried exhibition of work by emerging artists from around Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties addressing the theme of cycles: the complete and continuous processes that make up life.

The Longest Night Run/Walk, on Thursday, Dec. 21, 6pm-7:30pm, is a community event in which we come together to support and show solidarity to one another through times of grief, loss, waiting, and challenge. There is a suggested donation of $10, but no mandated fee. Please register here .

Foster's Fosters Holiday Gift Drive at Johnny Wicks

Johnny Wicks Candle Studio is hosting our third annual holiday gift drive for foster children. The mission of the project is to bring joy, laughter, and a sense of belonging to those children who, for various reasons, don't have the opportunity to experience the magic of Christmas like most of us do.

After 75 years, the historic Western Flyer - the sardine fishing boat immortalized by John Steinbeck's 1951 classic book, The Log from the Sea of Cortez - will return to her home port of Monterey. Join the free celebration at the end of Old Fisherman's Wharf (California Dock) on Saturday, November 4, 11am-4pm.

Festivities will include a boat parade, tours of the docked Western Flyer , live music, a prize drawing, art and science activities, giveaways, and more. All are welcome!
