Youth Arts Collective

Youth Arts Collective's Annual ARTathon returns June 22-23! Once again, YACsters are coming together to raise money for YAC by creating art for 24 continuous hours, from 10am Saturday to 10am Sunday.

YAC is accepting donations up to and throughout the event. For donations $50 and above, you'll receive the family "Before and After" photos of students and mentors.

Join the parade! Together as a community, we'll bring entertainment, excitement, and a whole lot of fun to Monterey on Independence Day. We are now accepting applications to participate in the 2024 4th of July Parade . Entry deadline is Friday, May 31.

We welcome bands, floats, drill teams, dance groups, unique vehicles, entertainment troupes, and equestrians. Get creative and think outside the box!

The annual LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration and Parade will return to Downtown Old Monterey on Saturday, June 29. Parade begins at 11am, going down Alvarado Street from Pearl to Franklin.

After the parade, bring the whole family to Custom House Plaza, 12pm-3pm, to enjoy speakers and free entertainment for all ages, lunch from local food trucks, and info tables from over 65 groups and agencies.

Slowfiber and The Pearl Works invite you to repair what you wear, have fun, and help us raise money for Community Human Services on Saturday, April 27, 6pm-8pm. Learn to repair your own clothes or get items repaired while you wait!

Bring along a few items of clothing you want fixed and we'll either teach you how to mend it or one of our repair fairies can do it for you. All proceeds go to Community Human Services. Register here . Admission is $20-$50.

Rotary Club Seeks Luggage for Foster Children

Monterey Pacific Rotary Club is collecting new and gently used luggage (backpacks, duffel bags, carry-on bags, etc.) for The Kinship Center / Seneca.

Many local foster children carry their things in garbage bags or shopping bags when transitioning into care homes. Let's give these kids their own luggage.

If you want to donate your new and like-new luggage please call Carolyn Harris at 831-869-8655 by May 31. A pick-up can be arranged.

The Foolish Times invites you to help us clean up Downtown Old Monterey streets - let's beautify our beloved Downtown in honor of Earth Day!

Check in at 9am at the Stanton Center at Custom House Plaza. Bags, buckets, gloves, and pickers will be provided. We'll also have donuts, coffee, water, snacks, and entertainment. All participants and families will get free admission to Stanton Center's art gallery that day!

Ballot Drop Box at Monterey Public Library 2024

The California primary election is March 5, and it's time to vote! A permanent Monterey County Elections ballot drop box for voters is installed at Monterey Public Library, available 24 hours a day until 8pm on March 5. The County will empty it on a regular basis. Just drop your ballot safely in the box at 625 Pacific Street.
