This event has already passed
Slowfiber presents a workshop led by Sahar Jabr entitled Nuno on Your Neck! Felting Merino and Silk Mosaic Scarves. This class will be held on Saturday, March 30, 12pm-5pm. Please register on the Slowfiber website. Fee is $125.
In this class, you'll learn the traditional approach to nuno felting. This technique bonds super soft, pre-dyed, loose merino wool fibers into silk gauze, creating a lightweight, strong bond full of visual, wearable possibilities. You will each make a felted scarf or cowl using resist techniques, creating a textile with the colors and embellishments of your choice.
This mode of making is exploratory, experimental, and full of surprises!
This class is suitable for adults only, beginners as well as artists expanding into other mediums. Teens with a parent are also welcome as long as both are enrolled.
