Slowfiber offers tools, notions, cloth, and yarn plus classes, mendbars, masks, and mask maker supplies. We buy, sell, and trade!

Slowfiber started as an exploration in sustainable fashion construction and preservation in 2017 and evolved into your hub for cloth, yarn, tools, and notions from new, up-cycled, pre-owned, recycled, historic, organic, salvaged, mill end, hand sewn, hand spun, hand knit, hand dyed, and fairly traded quality textile sources.

  • Daruma Japanese Thread Now at Slowfiber

    Slowfiber now carries Daruma embroidery thread and sashiko needles from Japan. You can find them both on the Slowfiber website and in the shop at 517A Hartnell Street.

    Designed for mending and patching clothing, Daruma's thread is stronger than typical embroidery floss, and the colors are fabulous.

    Mend Bar Happy Hour, is where we upcycle, recycle and repair garments. Each week covers a particular skill and offers a chance for a fresh look in your closet. Supplies are included in the price. You'll develop skills as you go free from judgement in a supportive and fun environment.
