Doll Making Workshop at Slowfiber: Create Your Alter Ego

Friday, July 08, 2022 - 9:00am

Have you ever googled doll making or self-portrait dolls? An endless menagerie of possibilities is what you will find! In this workshop at Slowfiber on July 8, 9am-3pm, we'll explore the ideas around a possible alternative "you" in the form of a doll. To play around with our own likeness offers freedom and humor in these trying times when we approach it playfully and with a lightness of spirit.

Doll making is as old as time, and three-dimensional concepts of self exploration are not uncommon. How do you see your possible alter ego...? In this workshop, we'll explore the other you that no one sees.

To participate in this workshop, you must: be able to thread a needle and sew a strait(ish) line; have patience; and approach the project with a kind heart free from judgement of yourself and others.

Fee is $60, which includes thread, recycled cotton filler/stuffing, pre-sewn cloth for doll forms, and an incredible scrap box of yarns, cloth, and accessories to share in the slowfiber classroom. To register and for more information, please visit our website.
