Print Making on Heritage Fabrics Workshop at Slowfiber

This event has already passed

Slowfiber presents a workshop with Evelyn Klein that will teach you how to make prints on fabric. Held on on Friday, May 6, 9am-1pm. Open to everyone age 16 and up. Fee is $75. Please register online.

Most of us have textile memoirs, heritage treasures stored away which we are not ready to let go of and would love to incorporate in our work but don't know how. Join us in this small group experience, repurposing your found memorabilia of handmade doilies, lace, crochet, embroidered handkerchiefs, tablecloths, quilt squares, pajama pockets, whatever, into a print surface.

In this self-portrait, a contemplative and intuitive approach to needle and thread, we will bring back our familial memories of an almost lost art You will use ink to turn your memorabilia to a printing surface so be sure you are ready to change these once useful items into something else. The end result is a series of hand-printed fabrics.
