Scoops: Limited Edition Shirts Raise Money for Kids with Autism

April is Autism Awareness Month and Scoops Ice Cream Parlor is selling limited edition Scoops t-shirts for $30 each. 100% of the proceeds will support the special needs program at Ord Terrace Elementary School in Seaside. Visit Scoops at 595 Munras Avenue to get your shirt!

We're offering both black shirts ("Scoops Autism Awareness") and white shirts ("Peace - Love - Scoops"). Even after April ends, we'll be selling these shirts until we run out.

Six Over Coffee and Company

Six Over Coffee and Company and Wally's will co-host a group motorcycle ride on Saturday, May 23. We'll depart from Six Over at 8:30am, head across Carmel Valley, ride through the twisty Santa Lucia Mountains, and loop back to Monterey.

All riders with bikes over 200cc are welcome to join. The ride is free, just arrive fully fueled and with a helmet.

The City of Monterey is holding a Residential Parking Program Requalification Update for residents of Monterey's Old Town Neighborhood at the City Council Chambers. If enough residents don't show interest in the program by April 30, the on-street permit parking restrictions will end and the neighborhood won't be eligible to reapply for at least 3 years.

This meeting is an opportunity for residents to ask questions, review next steps, and ensure you have the information necessary to make an informed decision.

OMBA's Sabrina Hiltunen Participates in First City Academy 2026

The Old Monterey Business Association (OMBA) is excited to announce our new Executive Director, Sabrina Hiltunen, will participate in the City of Monterey's First City Academy in Spring 2026 as a strategic community partner.

Meeting weekly for 9 sessions, the Academy teaches participants about Monterey's city management, community services, public works, police, community development, fire and emergency management, economic development, budgeting, and more.

An integral part of Sabrina's job in serving and representing Downtown Monterey businesses is to work with the City to conduct day-to-day operations, coordinate community events, and fulfill the district's vision. She's looking forward to learning more about government services and getting to know our civil servants better.
