  • Monterey Firefighters: Fire Victims Relief Fund

The current threat from the wildfires burning in Monterey County is unprecedented and the need of Monterey County residents who have been evacuated is huge. Now through September 5, 2020, Monterey Firefighters are collecting donations of cash and gift cards to distribute quickly, and directly, to families impacted by the fires.

Monterey Firefighters have set up a Go Fund Me page for financial donations. They are also accepting donations of gift cards from stores such as Target, Walmart, Safeway, or Lucky's, at all of the fire stations in the City of Monterey . Downtown Old Monterey's Fire Station No. 11 is located at 600 Pacific Street.

Although it's unbelievable that we are now facing these fires at the same time our families are being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, it's the difficult reality for all of us. We will survive this, but if it's possible to lend some help to our neighbors at the same time, we know it will be greatly appreciated.

It is with great regret that the Old Monterey Business Association has canceled the 2020 Old Monterey 4th of July Parade due to the prohibition of large group gatherings during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you to all of our friends who have participated in the parade over the years, and to the many, many spectators who have lined the streets of historic Downtown Old Monterey on the 4th of July. We'll see you next year as we celebrate Monterey's 250th Birthday Plus One!
