Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium: Readings by Victor Henry and John Laue

On the second Sunday of each month, come to Old Capitol Books to see the featured poets of the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium. This afternoon's featured poets are Victor Henry and John Laue, who will read from their work. There is a suggested donation of $5.

Victor Henry is the author of What They Wanted, Vietnam antiwar poems, which was published in 2015 by FutureCycle Press. His poetry and prose poems have appeared in Dead Snakes, Nobody Gets Off The Bus: The Viet Nam Generation Big Book, Paterson Literary Review, Red River Review, Touchstone, and others. He holds Masters Degrees in English and Library Science. Presently, he is a Reference Librarian at Monterey Public Library and a member of Veterans for Peace.

John Laue, a widely published, prize-winning poet and prose writer, has edited Transfer and been Associate Editor of San Francisco Review. He presently coordinates the monthly reading series of The Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium, is Advisory Editor to The Monterey Poetry Review, and is Program Director and interviewer for shows on local TV and YouTube. His fifth poetry chapbook, Shadows, was published in 2013 by Finishing Line Press. An edition of his book COLMA (City of the Dead/Elegy for Skeptics) was published by Futurecycle. Besides his writing, Laue’s man interest is mental health. He has been appointed three times to The Santa Cruz County Local Mental Health Advisory Board.
