East Village Coffee House presents an evening of live music featuring Valley Soul with Casey Frazier on Saturday, October 10, at 7pm.
Valley Soul is an up-and-coming six-piece powerhouse from Monterey. Their entrancing four-part harmonies and intrepid instrumentals are reminiscent of the Grateful Dead and Fleetwood Mac, and call forth a likeness to Arcade Fire and Of Monsters And Men. Nestled boldly amidst new age indie rock, old school folk, blues, and classic rock, they reinvent and combine expansive avenues of sound. Four songwriters fuel the group’s extensive library of eclectic material.
The artful skill of combining well-written lyrics with tried and true musical composition has given Casey Frazier opportunities to perform with the likes of Kenny Rogers and Mandy Moore. In 2009, his music was featured in the major motion picture, "Teenage Dirtbag", launching thousands of YouTube hits, covers of "Elysian Fields," and gaining him comparisons to Ryan Adams and Josh Rouse.
