Living History Day was part of the city of Monterey's full day of 4th of July activities for America 250, the 250th birthday of the United States of America.
On July 4th, 2026, Monterey State Historic Park staff and volunteers dressed in period costume invited visitors to step back in time in the Memory Garden behind Pacific House. Guests participated in Early California activities such as candle making, leather stamping, playing 19th century games, making adobe bricks, braiding rope, and making tortillas.
