"Bohemian Soul" Film Screening at Stanton Center

The Stanton Center hosts a screening of a locally-made documentary film entitled “Bohemian Soul, A Colony Awakes,” on Saturday, September 2 at 6pm.
In 1906 Carmel, California, a group of Bohemian artists created a revolutionary colony based on the ideals of truth, freedom, and love. Their commitment to ‘Art as Life’ continues to significantly influence artists and thinkers worldwide today. Discover the gifts of artists past and present on the Central Coast through this intimate one hour film, “Bohemian Soul: A Carmel Documentary."
After the film, there will be a brief presentation on the Flanders Mansion Revival Project by the film’s producers, Mike & Brittney Buffo, and their vision for restoring the historic yet vacant mansion to become a new place for us all to enjoy. It’s the big reveal of “The Carmel Outlands.”
A wine reception will follow this live event film showing. Guests will mingle with the producers and film cast, as well as officers of the California Art and Sciences Institute.
The audience will be inspired with the real story of how the Carmel and Monterey area emerged as an epicenter of arts and culture, which role continues to current time. The film cast includes experts on art and literature who reside on the Monterey Peninsula, along with descendants of some of the early artists and poets.
