The Monterey County Film Commission presents “Focus on Film: Hollywood Press and Public Relations with Jane Ayer” at the Museum of Monterey. A no-host wine reception will begin at 6:30pm, the presentation will begin at 7:15pm. Whether you’re looking for a job in film, or are a die-hard fan looking for inside scoops, anyone interested in the art of film-making will find this a fun, informative, and fascinating evening!

Tonight, Jane Ayer, a noted Hollywood PR expert, will speak about the role of public relations in the film and entertainment business and Oscar Award campaigns. Ayer’s publicity savvy has helped propel the fame and award recognition of dozens of film professionals such as Steven Spielberg, Cameron Crowe, Ken Burns, Richard Attenborough, Jack Lemmon, Jimmy Stewart, and Kevin Costner, and films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Back to the Future, Gangs of New York, and more. She brings fascinating insights for movie fans, explaining her public relations career path and giving the insider details on her Oscar-winning campaigns for Wallace & Gromit, The Right Stuff, the documentary The Gods of War, and foreign films Amour and A Separation.
