About the Film
Edith: Volcano Ascent chronicles a small team’s quest to set a world altitude record by conquering Chile’s Ojos del Salado (the highest active volcano on earth) in a mighty Porsche 911 named Edith.
Undertaken as a secret project by a group of maverick engineers, Edith: Volcano Ascent is an exploration of resilience and innovation, capturing the essence of pushing boundaries against all odds. The documentary dives into the technical challenges, environmental extremes, and the teamwork required to drive a car higher than 20,000 feet.
Through intimate interviews with key team members, the film reveals the emotional highs and setbacks over a four-year journey. Join us during Monterey Car Week to watch the film, speak to other Porsche enthusiasts, and even meet a Porsche 911 called Edith, which traveled further and higher than any earthbound vehicle in history.
