Wet Felting Workshop with Susan Shirley at Slowfiber

This event has already passed

Slowfiber presents a class on Wet Felting with Susan Shirley of Mosshollow Hill Farm on Saturday, August 14, 1pm-4:30pm. Fee is $50 (materials included). Online registration is required by July 31. Space is limited.

Have you ever wanted to make your own fabric? Are you curious about the felting process? If so, join Susan Shirley on a wet-felting exploration where students will create a handmade project bag using the resist method. You will learn to incorporate textures and colors from yarn, bits of silk, and fabric remnants into a wet felted wool base. No knitting or crocheting necessary.

Students may choose from between 3 different color kits which will include enough wool and fibers to create a medium-sized project bag with a flap.

Susan Shirley grew up reading books about magical places and dreamed of living in the woods amid family and furry creatures. Mosshollow Hill is her dream realized. As a fiber artist, she creates a world of handmade felted magic inspired by nature and literature and thrives on learning new techniques.
