Slowfiber: Sewing Lessons for the Adult Beginner and Their Machine

This event has already passed

Slowfiber presents Sewing Lessons for the Adult Beginner and Their Sewing Machine. Three classes. Six hours total. Tuesdays, 5pm-7pm, March 22 - April 5. Space is very limited (only 3 students) - please register on the Slowfiber website. Fee is $90.

This class is designed for beginners or those who haven't sewn in a long time and want to relearn. You choose your project with the help of Slowfiber's owner, Jaki Canterbury. Be sure your machine is tuned up in advance.

Session 1 begins with your machine and your tools - how it all works and what you can do with it. We will plot and scheme and get versed in how and what we need to make something for the first time. Think: bag, pillow cover, napkins.

Sessions 2 & 3 begin an easy project (determined in Session 1). We can copy or plot a pattern, cut fabric, prepare the sewing, and finish the piece. A truly rewarding experience with lots of proud moments! By the end of session 3 you will have finished your first one-of-a-kind sewing project.
