This discussion, coordinated with the Monterey Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), will engage in important dialogue around the shared history of Japanese Americans and the American concentration camps of the 1940s, and about Monterey’s unique role as a sanctuary city. The panel will feature Larry Oda (JACL Board Member), Jerry Takigawa (JACL Exhibition Curator and photographer), and Susan Kamei (lawyer, lecturer at USC, and author).
