Living in Color: The Color Duets of Kaffe Fassett and Erin Lee Gafill

Internationally renowned textile artist Kaffe Fasset and his niece, award winning artist, teacher, and author Erin Lee Gafill, invite you to join them on a whirlwind tour of their colorful and inspiring lives and work in anticipation of their upcoming exhibition at the Monterey Museum of Art.
This dynamic presentation at Irvine Auditorium on the campus of Middlebury Institute of International Studies will take you from the days of the California Gold Rush to the founding of Carmel-by-the-Sea to the establishment of one of the most iconic restaurants in Big Sur (and both artists’ childhood home), Nepenthe. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see images of both artists’ work in various media and listen to commentary from the artists themselves on their creative process and shared family history.
The presentation will last 45 minutes, with a Q&A session and book signing to follow. Tickets are $15 for Monterey Museum of Art members, $20 for non-members, and $25 at the door. You may purchase tickets in advance online.
