Reception for "Celebrate Monterey in Fabric Art Quilts" Exhibit at Alvarado Gallery

The City of Monterey's Museums and Cultural Arts Division presents a reception for our newest art exhibition, Celebrate Monterey in Fabric Art Quilts, featuring the work of a group of local artists known as the Pixel Pals, at Alvarado Gallery on Friday, February 28, 5:30pm-7pm. All are welcome. Alvarado Gallery is located on the mezzanine of Monterey Conference Center. Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to meet the artists.

This exhibit will highlight art quilts designed by combining photography, quilting, and computers to create digital art images of Monterey scenery, animals, vegetation, and events. The Pixel Pals, a group of six local women who have been meeting monthly in Monterey since 2007 to explore digital techniques using Adobe Photoshop Elements to create art quilts. Pixel Pals members are: Gudny Campbell, Gloria Hatton, Elizabeth Hull, Cheryl Smith, Anna Mae Gazo, and Roberta Goulding Brunet.

Celebrate Monterey in Fabric Art Quilts will be on display at Alvarado Gallery from February 28 through May 17, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
