East Village Coffee Lounge and Kiki Wow present an evening of live music featuring Georgia singer-songwriter Caroline Aiken on Friday, September 27, 6:30pm-8:30pm.
After years of performing, beginning in 1969 in NY, California, South America, and Europe, Caroline Aiken was named Best Acoustic Act by Atlanta Magazine in her birth town of Atlanta, Georgia. Her rich history includes recording and performing with Bonnie Raitt and the Indigo Girls, opening for Arlo Guthrie, Muddy Waters, Doc Watson, Randy Newman, Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, 38 Special, Beach Boys, Janis Ian, and Richie Havens.
Caroline appears in regional and national festivals, radio shows, workshops, and concert series, supporting her eight nationally-acclaimed recordings. Caroline’s "sensual voice, masterful songwriting, expert guitar” (Victory Music-Seattle) anchored the Atlanta's acoustic and folk scene, influencing the up-and-coming artists she took under her wing, including the Indigo Girls and Shawn Mullins. Carolin Aiken has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
