Cooper-Molera Adobe Grand Reopening

The Cooper-Molera Adobe will be celebrating a public reopening on Wednesday, July 4, 12pm-4pm. Get a sneak peek at the restoration which is transforming this historic site built in 1827 into a beautiful event space for the whole community. All are welcome!

Meet personalities from Monterey’s past including Jesse Benton Fremont, Andrew Molera, Thomas and Rachel Larkin, and John and Encarnacion Cooper, the original owners of the property (portrayed by the Pacific Repertory Theater). Enjoy and participate in a Fandango presented by early California dancers accompanied by Los Arribenos de San Francisco. Enjoy face-painting by Youth Arts Collective. Show your artistic ability and hand-color a Sea Lion brand artichoke packing label from Andrew Molera’s company that first introduced the artichoke into the Salinas Valley. Fill a sachet with potpourri made from the petals of old roses, flowers, and fruit from the site’s beautiful gardens and orchards. last but not least, visit with the Native Sons (and Daughters) of the Golden West, the service organization founded in 1875 that's dedicated to historic preservation within California.
