MIIS Lecture: Sustainable Cities in Mitigating the Threats of Climate Change

MIIS presents WorldViews: Tools of Change, a lecture series featuring MIIS faculty members discussing smart strategies needed to address mounting global threats. On Wednesday, March 14, 6pm-7pm, Fernando DePaolis will address Sustainable Cities in Mitigating the Threats of Climate Change in the McGowan Building, Room 102. Tickets are $10 each - advance purchase is recommended.

Fernando DePaolis is Associate Professor of Development Practice and Policy and a researcher at Center for the Blue Economy, where he studies and teaches about the problems and solutions at the interface between large bodies of water (oceans and lakes) and urban agglomerations.

Dr. DePaolis teaches Data Analysis, Development Economics, and other advanced quantitative policy analysis courses. He is a Research Fellow with the Naval Postgraduate School’s CORE Lab and with UCLA’s North American Integration and Development Center. He has been the Regional Economist with the Denver Regional Council of Governments and a consultant for cities, counties, international organizations, and several non-governmental organizations. He has a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from UCLA.
