Luminata Books and Gifts presents a free talk and book signing by Michael Cooper, author of The Rabbi's Knight, on Thursday, December 7, 7:30pm-8:30pm.

The Rabbi's Knight is an award-winning historical novel that takes place at the twilight of the Crusades in the year 1290. This fascinating and meticulously researched tale weaves together threads of history, adventure, romance, and Kabalistic teaching in a dramatic quest to decipher the wisdom of an ancient sacred scroll. With marvelous detail and a deep comprehension of spiritual truths, the author spins a suspenseful narrative and ingenious plot that will engage readers on many levels.

A native of Berkeley, California, Michael Cooper graduated from Oakland High School in 1966 and emigrated to Israel. He studied and traveled in the region for eleven years and graduated from medical school in Tel Aviv. Currently a pediatric cardiologist on the faculty at UCSF Medical Center, he returns frequently to Israel/Palestine to volunteer medical services to children who lack adequate access to care. His first book, Foxes in the Vineyard, is also available from Luminata. He now lives in northern California with his wife and two cats. His three adult children occasionally drop by.
