Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium: Readings by Kent Leatham and Wanda Sue Parrott

On the second Sunday of each month, come to Old Capitol Books to see the featured poets of the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium. This afternoon's featured poets are Kent Leatham and Wanda Sue Parrott, who will read from their work. There is a suggested donation of $5.
Kent Leatham holds an MFA in poetry from Emerson College and a BA in poetry from Pacific Lutheran University. His translations of Medieval/Renaissance Scots-language poetry have appeared or are forthcoming from InTranslation, Rowboat, Anomalous Press, and Ezra. His original poetry has appeared in dozens of journals nationwide, such as Ploughshares, Fence, Zoland, and Poetry Quarterly. Previously a poetry editor for Black Lawrence Press, Kent currently teaches at CSUMB.
Wanda Sue Parrott, founder of the Amy Kitchener's Angels Without Wings Foundation, was born in Missouri but was raised and educated in Southern California. She returned to Missouri in 1988, becoming active in the large community of writers living throughout the greater Ozarks. She is past president of Springfield Writers' Guild, honorary life member of Missouri State Poetry Society, and founder of the Springfield Writers Workshop. She is also a former investigative reporter and feature writer with the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner, and a syndicated feature writer with Ozarks Senior Living newspapers. She has won many awards for her poetry and short fiction as well as for her newspaper columns and features.
