Meet & Greet Race Car Driver Jesse Iwuji at MY Museum

Monterey County Youth Museum invites you to meet the first active duty US Navy Officer to compete in NASCAR, Jesse Iwuji, on Tuesday, August 15 at 10:30am. Jesse Iwuji will be in the museum to sign autographs and talk to kids. There will also be some fun car activities and a few other surprises to kick off car week. This event is free with museum admission.
At a young age, Dallas, TX native and first generation Nigerian-American Jesse Iwuji was interested in the sporting world. Being a Texan, football naturally took its course in his life and landed him a full ride athletic scholarship to the U.S Naval Academy. There he played NCAA Division 1A College Football and ran Track & Field all four years, graduated with his Bachelors of Science, and was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy. he is still currently active duty as an officer and has been on two Arabian Gulf deployments.
Outside his current active duty status in the Navy, Jesse has always had a passion in motorsports. In 2013, he was featured in Hot Rod Magazine twice for world record accomplishments in the Modern HEMI drag racing world and was on the cover of MoparMax magazine. He also began his road coursing ventures as a current SCCA member. In 2015, Jesse began his stockcar racing career with aspirations of eventually rising to the top level of NASCAR in the future. Jesse is currently racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. As a rookie in 2016, Jesse finished Top 10 overall in points for the season out of 59 drivers in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. He is going into his sophmore NASCAR K&N Pro Series season for 2017 now partnered with 3xNFL Pro Bowler Shawne Merriman as his car owner on Patriot Motorsports Group.
