As many of you know, the Joseph Boston Store, located at 210 Olivier Street in Old Monterey, is dedicated to supporting our local artisans. Wendy Towner and Francisco Aguilera, the husband and wife team behind one of our vendors, The Honey Ladies, were selling their wares at the Gilroy Garlic Festival when they were tragically shot. They received extensive injuries and are facing many hardships ahead.

The Joseph Boston Store is honored to carry The Honey Ladies' honey and beeswax candles. Their products are made locally by bees saved from extermination. When unwanted hives are found, the Honey Ladies safely relocate them to farms where they can feed on wildflowers and they can harvest the honey. Each jar of honey helps save more hives.

The Joseph Boston Store, run by the Historic Garden League, is taking donations to help Wendy and Francisco with medical expenses. Anyone who comes in and makes a donation will receive a free Honey Ladies honey stick. In addition, The Historic Garden League will donate all proceeds from the sale of Honey Ladies products to Wendy and Francisco's Go Fund Me campaign to cover medical bills, modifications to their home for wheelchair accessibility, and lost income during their long period of recovery.

In partnership with Monterey Bay Food Tours, The Boston Store will be offering honey tastings on these dates at our shop at 210 Olivier Street, 11am-3pm:
Friday, August 9
Saturday, August 10
Saturday, August 17
Friday, August 23
